Each piece produced by Donna Distefano Ltd. is designed and made in house by Distefano and her team. Since classical goldsmithing and metalsmithing, by their very nature, are processes by which an artisan crafts a piece using hand tools, fire, and centuries-old skills honed over years of training, each ring, necklace, pendant, and bracelet is unique. The customization process is as limitless as your imagination, as the atelier will work with you in using your own stones, swapping out the gemstones on one piece for another, or coordinating to design a one-of-a-kind piece just for you. †

02 — Restoration

The restoration of your most cherished pieces is not something to be taken casually. 04 — Appraisal

It is important to understand the value of those precious pieces held in your possession. Heirlooms, bequeathed jewelry, and family treasures alike must be properly and honestly assessed. Donna Distefano Ltd. offers appraisal services using the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) report as an independent and impartial entity that will inform the value. This is not only good practice but it also highly recommended for insurance purposes. Beyond that, our appraisal program includes meticulous intake, cataloging, historical research, and photography. Every detail is accounted for. †

05 — Certification

All diamonds and gemstones sold by Donna Distefano can be certified for authenticity by an independent laboratory. For clients who enjoy the peace of mind that certification provides, we are able to arrange this service through the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), the world’s most trusted name in gem identification. With objectivity and expertise as its hallmarks, GIA ensures the integrity and accuracy of every report. A report from GIA is an expert statement of a gem’s identity and quality characteristics. A GIA report isn’t an appraisal of financial value; it is your assurance of your gemstone’s quality, with clear disclosure if the material has been treated to enhance or alter its appearance. The report provides the kind of evidence that is vital to a confident gem or jewelry purchase. †
